We believe in a world where disability doesn’t mean invisibility. At AbleHands, we empower specially abled individuals from underserved communities with hands-on skills and pathways to employment, while contributing to sustainable, waste-reducing fashion.
AbleHands was founded in June 2025 as a vertical of Clo_ser India, an initiative that transforms textile waste into economic opportunity. Building on that vision, AbleHands focuses on disability inclusion, training individuals in weaving, stitching, and garment-making using discarded materials.
We combine training with mentorship, employment networks, and original advocacy resources to push for more equitable skilling ecosystems in India and beyond.
A workforce where skill - not disability - defines opportunity.
A fashion economy that’s sustainable and inclusive.
A future that leaves no one behind.
AbleHands is committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by building an inclusive and sustainable future that leaves no one behind.
Our work contributes to:
SDG 1: No Poverty
By providing marginalized, specially abled individuals with skill-building and employment opportunities, AbleHands directly contributes to poverty reduction through sustainable livelihood generation.
SDG 4: Quality Education
Vocational training, workshops, and certification programs under AbleHands support inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities, especially for underserved communities.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
AbleHands creates decent job opportunities for specially abled individuals by connecting them to inclusive employers and sustainable livelihoods, encouraging productive employment and financial independence.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
At its core, AbleHands works to dismantle structural and attitudinal barriers faced by persons with disabilities, reducing social, economic, and institutional inequalities through empowerment and inclusion.
